Have I mentioned I like it here?

IHOPU is fantastic! I am growing so much. God  delivered me yesterday from annoyance and also fear of man and shame. (the last two I'm declaring and will walk out) I was annoyed with my roommates for a little while, and then God delivered me and I haven't been annoyed since. Praise God! I'm claiming that!

The whole school right now is getting ready for a blitz outreach to colleges in California. We will be there Nov. 4-15 leading up to the Fight Conference. We will be fasting from Oct. 24-Nov. 13 if you would like to join us in fasting and prayer. Here is the info:

The Blitz! SoCal, November 4th - 15th
The vision of the Blitz! is to mobilize IHOPU students to launch a preemptive prayer and missions strike in Los Angeles in the weeks leading up to the Fight! conference.  The aim is to  to call forth young pioneering leaders to a culture of prayer and a life of mission according to the vision and mission of the Luke18 Project and By serving and strengthening the Body of Christ in Los Angeles.
All IHOPU students are invited to participate in the Blitz!. Students will leave Kansas City by bus on November 4th and from there will be dispatched to one of several strategic locations in the South California region (LA, Pasadena, Laguna Hills, San Diego, etc.). At each location, students will strengthen local prayer ministries, engage in street/beach evangelism, maintain healing and prophecy rooms, and minister to college students on local college campuses.
The final days of the trip, IHOPU students will converge from the surrounding regions on to the Fight! young adult conference (hosted by Luke18 Project in Los Angeles) where students will help minister to the 5000 expected attendees. Immediately after the conference, students will board buses and return to Kansas City.
Students will adopt a "missions lifestyle" for the entirety of the Blitz!. In addition to a humble attitude of serving demonstrated at every turn, students will:
  • sleep in community sleeping areas (such as the floors of churches, etc).
  • Engage in a Daniel-fast type diet for the duration of the trip.
  • Share shower facilities and kitchen facilities
  • Rotate cooking duty

Also this whole month, every Saturday students have been outreaching/ministering to people in line at haunted houses. (Its called Edge of Hell-intense name, I know). Kansas City is known for its haunted houses.  I haven't gone yet, but I want to this Saturday. Pray for me, its gonna be good!

That is what's going on as far as school activities besides the powder-puff football ultimatum happening next Sunday.
Exciting!!

PRAYER ROOM!!!!

The PR! Its a great place! Its so great to just go in and meet with Jesus. I go every morning from 6 am to 9:30 Mon-Thurs. At first it was hard, but now its becoming easy- God's awesome. Something that changed how I spent my time in the PR was when Corey Russell said, "Its awesome. You wake up in the morning and you go to the PR first thing, and you go to meet with Jesus and say, 'Jesus, you're beautiful today'." I thought that was pretty cool. I'm noticing from the PR that IHOP has some waay talented musicians here. It blows my mind a lot of times. There is a pretty good  variety of styles: you have Justin Rizzo with violins, cello, viola, a white rapper, trumpets and sax. Then there is Jon Thurlow's team that have unique voices- there is a Hawaiian man who sings like he's in Hawaii- its sooooo awesome!  Then there's Misty- she's intense. And a whole variety.
In the PR, I feel as though God's right next to me and basically I take advantage of the room's/team's anointing and ask him about what's on my mind, and what I'm struggling with. There is just the sacred atmosphere in that place.
I like the PR

I've missed 3 weeks?!?!

So sorry! I've been writing a couple of papers, so every time I was on a computer I forced myself to stay as on task as I could!
Update: At the moment I am a little sick- I think its just a cold. I worked today trying to take pictures of bitty soccer and it was cold outside and little kids have a hard time posing. It was kind of funny, but it took some time... But today may have very well been my last day taking pics of little tykes. Its been short-lived but a blessing to earn some extra cash.  Today my coworker Alan told me he didn't have trouble sleeping anymore! This is cool because he told me last time we worked together that he trouble sleeping. So I asked if I could pray for him and he was cool with that and now he is reassured that prayer works!~ I am becoming more bold, but I still forgot to encourage him more by telling him more of Jesus' love for him. He actually grew up in a Lutheran background, so we had something in common!

Days go on, I am spending half of my time in the PR and really enjoying it! I play ultimate frisbee on Sundays (HOORAAH!) and have resorted to getting work out dvds from the library and working out at home-this is new to me, but I did take a walk in the rain today-pretty fun! My roommate today was baffled that anyone would even go into a library, and that its a place for nerds....well... it is. :) I love my room mates, we are pretty tight! I have a fondness for libraries-quite useful you know! You can get stuff for free for an allotted period of time. CHECKING STUFF OUT FOR FREE?!?!?!= awesome.

Things in Missouri that are not in Utah, chicadas(spelling?), chiggers (:( I miss my grass days), papers get damp at night in 1 hour when outside, and apparently sidewalks are only for parts of the street. JK- but for real.
That's all folks! (good cartoon days!)
