IHOPU is great! Its also very strange at the same time, because I'm truly living in a seperate community it feels like. I mentioned it in my first post, but we have a brand new building! It was finished I think a week or two before classes started. They just finished the coffee/cafeteria area yesterday I believe. I haven't yet visited it but most of the students hang out there nowadays. I am in my second module out of 4 for my first semester. This module is about Night and Day Prayer, Allen Hood is starting off teaching us then next week Corey Russell will teach, along with Wes Hall who is taking a trip next week to England.
General overview:
My first semester is all doing the "Forerunner Curriculum". "Which is a foundational, general program of study that all incoming students are required to take first. It is designed to provide students with an overview of the foundational values and theology of the end time prayer movement and equip us with practical tools to effectively engage, both personally and corporately in a life of prayer, fasting and the word."- syllabus
We have chapel once a week, awakening services thurs-sat nights, and a practicum in which Corey Russell and Shelley Hundley teach.
I also have one music class (gospel choir) as the hope is to get all students a good idea of the lifestyle, and also to focus on loving Jesus first semester and learn to carry that into the second semester. Next semester I will be in more music classes.
One of the most important requirements of IHOPU is the PR hours. I'm required to have 24 hours logged in. So for me I spend MON-THURS in the prayer room from 6 to 9:30 AM. In actuality, though it is tiring and I feel like I need coffee every morning, it is really good! I'm starting to enjoy the PR more and more.
The PR is the basis and foundation for everything IHOP does. "The heart must expand at least at the same rate as the mind lest the mind gain knowledge and lose discernment" ~ Allen Hood's notes
Also I have a studies of the book of Joel class with Mike Bickle (MB)
Well, that's about it, oh except the weekly quizzes I take for my core classes have been going badly- my average has been 60%..... but it each quiz is like 0.09% each. but still....
I really am learning alot! This post is more informative, but I thought it might interest some on the everyday look at my life here.
Sweet Sauce!
Much Love!
