Hey this is just a quickie. But I was wondering what you guys would like to hear about? What would you like me to blog about? I'll be back but I'm on a public library right now and don't have much time left.
Till next time
This blog is all about my life here in Kansas City, MO at the one and only University of the International House of Prayer. It will keep you updated about school, worship, grocery shopping, house adventures and the like.

Blitz review
Hey Hey!
I am back from California!
You can read the previous blog for more info but basically IHOPU sent 300 students to Southern California to contend for revival, to encourage the Bride, and to also get people ready for the FIGHT! conference. I was gone 10 days. While we were out there 300 students stayed in the Prayer Room praying hardcore for us and California. I heard that there was some attack even on the intercessors here and boy did their prayers make a difference! We had good air coverage!!
We took 5 buses (40 hour bus ride!) and went to 8 different locations in southern Cali. My group ended up going to Santa Barbara! I got to see the Gupta's and G&G Trelstad!! So great! I miss them!
I was in a place called Isla Vista, or IV; its by UCSB. I heard that it is one of the top party schools/locations in the USA. We got in Friday night around 11pm and we all walked on the streets with our luggage while everyone else was partying. It was a funny sight, I wish I had it on camera! We got to 'hang out' with the people on the party street and tried telling them about Jesus. The location we stayed at is known as the "Jesus Burger House" to the locals. Every Saturday evening this house (filled with Christian students: 8 girls on top floor, 8 guys on lower level) give out free Burgers and use that to minister God's love to the people. The folks we stayed with were so great, they really love Jesus! We spent our time encouraging the body and praying in their prayer shed right behind the Jesus Burger house. The Holy Spirit broke out like a bomb in that room! Healings were occurring, there was a spirit of prophecy, God's joy and delight was breaking out, deliverences... It was a party!
When we first got there we went to a conference the IV church was putting on, then we served the pastor by cleaning his house, praying in the prayer shed, hanging with the body- which usually looked like prophesying over each other, getting 'drunk in the Spirit', worship, and chats and enjoyment of eachother.
We got to go to UCSB for 45 min and went out in twos and talked to people about Jesus. There was this one man who I got to talk with for awhile, it was a really good learning experience for me because I had not really done anything like that! The Lord was teaching me as I went, but hearing testimonies from the other groups it is a crazy truth that not as many people as I would think have any idea of who Jesus is. (But heck, I've been learning myself!) Many people haven't even heard of Jesus.
Then we went to the Fight! conference.
It was awesome.
The speakers there made me tremble, in an excellent way. (Mike Bickle once asked, "when was the last time you heard a sermon that made you tremble? When was the last time you gave a message that made someone tremble?) The speakers were Lou Engle, Jackie Pullinger, Jessie Engle, Dick Eastman, Loren Cummingham, and Brian Kim. Wow! Every time... and they were funny!
The Lord has been solidifying me on this trip.I've been stepping out in faith and have been learning to have confidence in His Love. God is soooooooooooo faithful!!!!!!! Amen! He is so good, so joyful- Jesus is the happiest man alive! God is so just, so excellent, so terrifying, so comforting, so Holy, so peaceful, and so much more! He's so BIG! He's got everything I need!
I will post more on the Blitz very soon! With some good stories!~Hope this is a good teaser!
Oh and the testimonies!!! Next Blog for sure.

Have I mentioned I like it here?
IHOPU is fantastic! I am growing so much. God delivered me yesterday from annoyance and also fear of man and shame. (the last two I'm declaring and will walk out) I was annoyed with my roommates for a little while, and then God delivered me and I haven't been annoyed since. Praise God! I'm claiming that!
The whole school right now is getting ready for a blitz outreach to colleges in California. We will be there Nov. 4-15 leading up to the Fight Conference. We will be fasting from Oct. 24-Nov. 13 if you would like to join us in fasting and prayer. Here is the info:
Students will adopt a "missions lifestyle" for the entirety of the Blitz!. In addition to a humble attitude of serving demonstrated at every turn, students will:
Also this whole month, every Saturday students have been outreaching/ministering to people in line at haunted houses. (Its called Edge of Hell-intense name, I know). Kansas City is known for its haunted houses. I haven't gone yet, but I want to this Saturday. Pray for me, its gonna be good!
That is what's going on as far as school activities besides the powder-puff football ultimatum happening next Sunday.
Exciting!!

The Blitz! SoCal, November 4th - 15thThe vision of the Blitz! is to mobilize IHOPU students to launch a preemptive prayer and missions strike in Los Angeles in the weeks leading up to the Fight! conference. The aim is to to call forth young pioneering leaders to a culture of prayer and a life of mission according to the vision and mission of the Luke18 Project and By serving and strengthening the Body of Christ in Los Angeles.
All IHOPU students are invited to participate in the Blitz!. Students will leave Kansas City by bus on November 4th and from there will be dispatched to one of several strategic locations in the South California region (LA, Pasadena, Laguna Hills, San Diego, etc.). At each location, students will strengthen local prayer ministries, engage in street/beach evangelism, maintain healing and prophecy rooms, and minister to college students on local college campuses.
The final days of the trip, IHOPU students will converge from the surrounding regions on to the Fight! young adult conference (hosted by Luke18 Project in Los Angeles) where students will help minister to the 5000 expected attendees. Immediately after the conference, students will board buses and return to Kansas City.

PRAYER ROOM!!!!
The PR! Its a great place! Its so great to just go in and meet with Jesus. I go every morning from 6 am to 9:30 Mon-Thurs. At first it was hard, but now its becoming easy- God's awesome. Something that changed how I spent my time in the PR was when Corey Russell said, "Its awesome. You wake up in the morning and you go to the PR first thing, and you go to meet with Jesus and say, 'Jesus, you're beautiful today'." I thought that was pretty cool. I'm noticing from the PR that IHOP has some waay talented musicians here. It blows my mind a lot of times. There is a pretty good variety of styles: you have Justin Rizzo with violins, cello, viola, a white rapper, trumpets and sax. Then there is Jon Thurlow's team that have unique voices- there is a Hawaiian man who sings like he's in Hawaii- its sooooo awesome! Then there's Misty- she's intense. And a whole variety.
In the PR, I feel as though God's right next to me and basically I take advantage of the room's/team's anointing and ask him about what's on my mind, and what I'm struggling with. There is just the sacred atmosphere in that place.
I like the PR

I've missed 3 weeks?!?!
So sorry! I've been writing a couple of papers, so every time I was on a computer I forced myself to stay as on task as I could!
Update: At the moment I am a little sick- I think its just a cold. I worked today trying to take pictures of bitty soccer and it was cold outside and little kids have a hard time posing. It was kind of funny, but it took some time... But today may have very well been my last day taking pics of little tykes. Its been short-lived but a blessing to earn some extra cash. Today my coworker Alan told me he didn't have trouble sleeping anymore! This is cool because he told me last time we worked together that he trouble sleeping. So I asked if I could pray for him and he was cool with that and now he is reassured that prayer works!~ I am becoming more bold, but I still forgot to encourage him more by telling him more of Jesus' love for him. He actually grew up in a Lutheran background, so we had something in common!
Days go on, I am spending half of my time in the PR and really enjoying it! I play ultimate frisbee on Sundays (HOORAAH!) and have resorted to getting work out dvds from the library and working out at home-this is new to me, but I did take a walk in the rain today-pretty fun! My roommate today was baffled that anyone would even go into a library, and that its a place for nerds....well... it is. :) I love my room mates, we are pretty tight! I have a fondness for libraries-quite useful you know! You can get stuff for free for an allotted period of time. CHECKING STUFF OUT FOR FREE?!?!?!= awesome.
Things in Missouri that are not in Utah, chicadas(spelling?), chiggers (:( I miss my grass days), papers get damp at night in 1 hour when outside, and apparently sidewalks are only for parts of the street. JK- but for real.
That's all folks! (good cartoon days!)

House
Today I am fortunate to be able to sit in my living room and write on my blog. I am eating well- thank you Jesus-and I am so thankful for having a vehicle and a great cellphone to keep in contact. My house is no longer sick- for awhile we were all sick. "Jesus has healed our bodies, time for Holy Ghost parties. Dance Dance Dance" (song of IHOP). My house is pretty comfortable, I like it. We all get along, there are 5 of us living here in the Norby house. We have 2 dogs that will be having puppies in December about. ... heh... er.. : / I may see if it can become a job opportunity since taking care of puppies takes a lot of time and care. The dogs are labs.
My housemates and I feel like we are growing so fast in just one month. God is doing amazing things for all of us and growing us and stretching us.
I wish I could put up photos with these blogs, but since I don't have a computer yet, that will have to wait. But in actuality, no computer is good for me.
Just a small update for now.

School life
IHOPU is great! Its also very strange at the same time, because I'm truly living in a seperate community it feels like. I mentioned it in my first post, but we have a brand new building! It was finished I think a week or two before classes started. They just finished the coffee/cafeteria area yesterday I believe. I haven't yet visited it but most of the students hang out there nowadays. I am in my second module out of 4 for my first semester. This module is about Night and Day Prayer, Allen Hood is starting off teaching us then next week Corey Russell will teach, along with Wes Hall who is taking a trip next week to England.
General overview:
My first semester is all doing the "Forerunner Curriculum". "Which is a foundational, general program of study that all incoming students are required to take first. It is designed to provide students with an overview of the foundational values and theology of the end time prayer movement and equip us with practical tools to effectively engage, both personally and corporately in a life of prayer, fasting and the word."- syllabus
We have chapel once a week, awakening services thurs-sat nights, and a practicum in which Corey Russell and Shelley Hundley teach.
I also have one music class (gospel choir) as the hope is to get all students a good idea of the lifestyle, and also to focus on loving Jesus first semester and learn to carry that into the second semester. Next semester I will be in more music classes.
One of the most important requirements of IHOPU is the PR hours. I'm required to have 24 hours logged in. So for me I spend MON-THURS in the prayer room from 6 to 9:30 AM. In actuality, though it is tiring and I feel like I need coffee every morning, it is really good! I'm starting to enjoy the PR more and more.
The PR is the basis and foundation for everything IHOP does. "The heart must expand at least at the same rate as the mind lest the mind gain knowledge and lose discernment" ~ Allen Hood's notes
Also I have a studies of the book of Joel class with Mike Bickle (MB)
Well, that's about it, oh except the weekly quizzes I take for my core classes have been going badly- my average has been 60%..... but it each quiz is like 0.09% each. but still....
I really am learning alot! This post is more informative, but I thought it might interest some on the everyday look at my life here.
Sweet Sauce!
Much Love!

On my mind: Santa-Cali-Gon
This is really great! I have people reading and supporting me!! That means a lot to me!
PLEASE pray for me and my house as all of us are sick!
In just a week so much can happen! I'll try to update y'all.
The Lord is working wonders on me, its almost unbelievable- but I believe! I'm actually really enjoying the Prayer room (I'm gonna call it the PR) but I have realized that I am similar to my mother in that I have to have a certain quota of movement fulfilled otherwise I can get antzy sitting in one spot too long.
The Lord is teaching me about how he speaks to me and about the gift of the 'prophetic'. I've been told that I have that gift but I didn't really believe it or I was afraid of whatever that meant. No joke, not more than 5 min after I told a friend that I wasn't really sure about the prophetic in me and wished I could be mentored in it that God gave me a crash landing course. A little bit of background: Over labor day weekend I was at a festival here called "Santa-Cali-Gon Festival" I think its where some specific set of roads all began from?... Anyways IHOP had set up 4 booths. There was a mini-stage, facepainting, and a dream interpretation/healing booth all right next to a witch's booth, and then there was a large tent for gospel music or something of the like. So here I was thinking this was just like Finger of God/Furious Love (these are 2 awesome documentaries about what God is doing around the world and stuff going on- check 'em out!)
The students were required to go to one day of the festival to serve the people in anyone of those booths or just tell people about Jesus. So the festival for me started off with my first spiritual treasure hunt. Boy. It was interesting- I was about as beginner as you could get, I was hoping I could just tag along for the ride. I was a little tense and things weren't apparent in revelation to the people we talked to.
For everyone wondering a treasure hunt in this case is where you have a group of people and you wait on the Lord to give you names, pictures, things that need to be healed, miscellaneous, colors, places, whatever. We wrote them down on a piece of paper and then walked around the fair looking for those people and when we found them we told them that we were doing a treasure hunt and asked them if they needed any prayer. There were a couple times where my buddies got 'words of knowledge' about those we talked with. (Things about them we would otherwise have NO idea about if God hadn't told us). So it was interesting. I wasn't really feeling bubbly or anything though. We went back to the IHOP booths and I was interesting in the dream interp booths, really I just wanted to sit and listen. So my friend Darren asked me why I didn't just try it. Of course I gaped at him, but during this convo I was talking about being spiritually shy, and wanting direction in the prophetic. WEEeelll. Darren convinced me to go with him and sit at a table and before I knew it people were coming in telling us about dreams they've had and we would try to interpret it. Now this was all biblically based. We highlighted 1 Cor. 14 in that prophecy is meant to encourage, strengthen, and comfort. Thankfully Darren had some experience so I just followed his lead. The people who came in were either curious, wanting to pick a debate, desperate or searching. The Holy Spirit opened up our table where people were just spilling their guts. There were a lot of broken people- God likes those alot! So God was working through me to interpret dreams, and pray for healing- one lady had 2 pages full of lists of meds, problems, and surgeries she had. Other people needed heart healing, if you could keep a lady named Marianne in your prayers. Then came a big stretch for me of prophesying over people. We would just pray then sit in silence as the people across the table waited then tell them what we heard or saw related to them. IT WAS AWESOME! It was exhilarating, it was powerful, it was FUN! God is SOOOO GOOD!
That was my grand adventure last weekend. It was a good reminder that God wants to partner with his children in bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth. It also was a part answer to a question of 'what is my place in influencing culture.' A couple weeks ago IHOP hosted a prayer conference of National Evangelical Prayer Leaders Event during which these leaders prayed for 66 hours. (they're the ones who presented that question). Part of it is deliberate, part I hope will just happen. For example I may influence the culture by becoming an ethnomusicologist that helps people worship with their own music. But I also want to influence the culture of my city by how I walk and interact with people in a grocery store, because there is an open heaven that I want to rain down wherever I go. I want to be under that open heaven, I want my faith to leave the building with me, to be a shirt I never take off or whatever. :) I need a better analogy
Anyways, I'm being pressed and encouraged. God is speaking to me- which in itself is amazing!
I am seeing the need to proclaim the gospel. I am being taught what it really means to follow Christ. I've given him my life, control, obedience. If I take back control I am undermining his authority and must think I can do it better than God- which is saying I think the problem/situation is too big for God- which is a lie.
Nothing is bigger than God. I am askin gGod to stir up more passion for His name, and am soo thankful that he teaches me. Its all about him really. As I get closer to the light I do see the darkness of my heart and thoughts, but one of my teachers said it gets worse as the darkness is on its way out and that's why it seems so discouraging to find out. Corey Russell said "God knows all those dark things, you're a lot worse than you realize." But God still chose me, he still likes me. In the lyrics of Misty Edwards, (From God's perspective): "I knew what I was getting into when I formed you, I knew what I was getting into and I still like you, I knew what I was getting into and I still want you."
God is so good! I love him so much!

WOOT! First post!
Hello Everybody! I've started a blog! Pretty exciting for me! This is my first blog. I will try to update at least weekly, I am using a library inside our NEW building for school! Where to begin? Thank you to everyone who helped me out in this decision to attend IHOPU. Jon- for telling me about it. Uncle Steve and Valbona- for flying me out to the Onething '09 conference, which basically cemented my decision to attend here. And my 2 incredible, awesome, supportive parents! Mom and Dad, you guys really are my greatest supporters, Thank you! And to all my friends who have given me encouragement! Thankyou!
After a 16 hour drive in a STUFFED Mazda, here I am! My parents graciously gave me the car-which I use often, but I am only 5-10 minutes away from all the IHOP buildings, Praise the Lord! I am living in a house with 4 other girls- all who are past incredible! I am living in the basement with 3 other girls, I have my own room. We have a dehumidifier- something I've never seen or used in Utah! That is filled up DAILY!
I'm eating really well! Hooray! I made some potato dish the other day and am about to head out to this awesome food drive for students called manna 4 u. It is meant to support students or IHOP families from "involuntarily fasting", and students can sign up and get food for free or with a donation.
I am learning so much while I am here! I just finished up a week with Wes Hall teaching us about the End-Times and the basic structure and overview of Revelation and what the End Times is all about. BOY have I learned a lot! I'll probably post some thoughts on some of my classes. This week Allen Hood is teaching our class on the Praying Church, I'm looking forward to it.
Well this is basically it for the first blog! Till next time!
